GRASSROOTS HOOP CHALLENGE
Dear Player,
The All-Ohio Summer Basketball
Program will hold its Annual Nike All-Ohio Slam-N-Jam Hoop Challenge. The Hoop Challenge is an event in which
Ohio's top players (grades 6 through 12) are given a chance to showcase their
talent in front of the nation's best college coaches. There were over 500 players at the last Hoop Challenge. For young players in grades 6-10, this event
gets your name in the hands of college coaches at the right time. This shootout will evaluate players for
the Nike All-Ohio AAU travel teams which play nationwide.
When you look across the
country at Ohio kids playing major college basketball, this event was a big
part of their exposure. This event will feature Juniors like Jared
Sullinger, Juwan Staten, Jordan Sibert, Aaron Craft, Adriean Payne, J.D.
Weatherspoon; Sophomores like Trayvon Jackson, Stevie Taylor, Travis Trice,
Anton Grady, Markus Crider, and Trey Burke; and Freshmen like Elijah Macon,
Malik London, Cameron Wilson, Isiah (Zeke) Rogers, Jordan Potts.
The All-Ohio Program has direct connections with
over 350 Division I college coaches nationwide. Every major college in the country checks in
with the All-Ohio Program to see who the players are. Major colleges from the nation's top basketball conferences such
as the Big Ten, Mid-American, Atlantic 10, Horizon, Mid-Continent and
Conference USA will get the scouting report for this event. NCAA Division II
and III schools and several NAIA schools will be there.
Some of the nation's top high
school publications from around the country will be in attendance. We will also turn in our list of
recommendations for the 2009 Nike Hoop Jamboree and LeBron James Camp.
This event will get your name in all the major scouting reports that college
coaches respect. Ohio Prep Spotlite
will serve as the event’s official scouting service.
This great event will take place
Sunday, March 29, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at:
USA Sports Academy (formerly The Hoop)
4185 East 5th Avenue,
Columbus, Ohio
The cost of this event is $70.00. You will receive an All-Ohio Slam-N-Jam
t-shirt with a number so college coaches can identify you. Each player will play 4 games and receive
equal playing time. There will be 10
players per team. Players will be
matched up against players in their own grade. There will be four courts
for use with little or no waiting. Once
we receive your payment, we will mail you the time your session starts. Your payment must be in by March 23, 2009.
*This event
meets Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Bylaw 10-3-3 for
non-inter-scholastic competition after basketball season.*
