Dear Coach:
This serves as your invitation to participate in the 20th Annual Nike All-Ohio Grassroots Cup Basketball Tournament. This Tournament will take place April 11 & 12, 2009. It will be held at USA Sports Academy (formerly The Hoop), 4185 East 5th Avenue in Columbus, Ohio with six (6) full-size courts under one roof. This Tournament is for sophomore, junior and senior all-star teams. The entry fee of $400.00 will be due in full by April 4, 2009 to ensure your team’s participation.
There will be teams represented from many parts of the country. All the major scouting services have been invited to attend. This is an excellent opportunity for NCAA Division II and III schools to see your players. Over two hundred Division I college coaches have purchased a special scouting report for this event.
All teams are guaranteed a minimum of three (3) games. We will use pool play format with four (4) teams per pool. The top two (2) teams from each pool will advance to play for the championship. There will be two (2) 20-minute halves, and the clock will stop the last three (3) minutes of each half. On the tenth foul of each half, the player will shoot two (2) free throws. Each player will foul out on the sixth foul. Each team has two (2) time-outs per half.
Trophies will be given to the first and second place teams. There will be an MVP award for the outstanding player in the championship game. Plus, we will have an All-Tournament team.
